About
Roger French, a native of Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, is the founder of Triniwood Media Group NY, LLC. Mr. French holds a BA in Journalism from Baruch College—City University of New York, and presently serves as a Contributing News Writer to the Canarsie Courier in Brooklyn (read his stories and column here).
As a kid coming of age in Brooklyn in the 1970s, Mr. French drew inspiration from hearing stories of his great great-aunt, Matilda French, and her coming to New York in the 1920s to be part of Harlem’s music scene. These stories would be his first exercise in writing and recording oral family history, as well as serve as the impetus of Triniwood Media.
A member of SAG-AFTRA, Mr. French appears in numerous TV shows and films as an actor working in background. Such roles occur in The Cosby Show, Malcolm X, Juice, Here and Now, Madam Secretary, Daredevil, The Get Down, Luke Cage, The Good Fight, The Deuce, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, She’s Gotta Have It, Godfather of Harlem and Power Book III: Raising Kanan, among others. Mr. French is also a photographer and screenplay writer. He’s currently preparing an original script for production in Brooklyn, NY and Trinidad and Tobago in 2027.
Si, the driving muse of Triniwood Media, is a talented writer and photographer in her own right. She’s also a creative who’s passionate about caring for children — as well as developing children’s stories. An avid moviegoer, Si understands the power of cinema and its ability to connect with the universal human condition.
